With the cold weather outside, it’s important to stay warm and cozy. That’s why the video below is so important! There’s nothing more satisfying than a nice, delicious hot chocolate on a cold, winter day. But rather than create your average instant hot chocolate from a NestlĂ© packet, try this new recipe instead. It will help you step up the quality of your hot chocolates!

To start, you will need the following:

  • 12-ounce bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Mix all these items in a large bowl and microwave it for two minutes. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir it a few times to ensure that the chips are melting evenly. Once the mixture is smooth, remove it from the microwave and cover it with plastic wrap.

Place the mixture in the refrigerator to let it cool. This typically takes around two hours. Using a toothpick, you can check if the mixture has cooled down or not. Once it’s firm, scoop it out into balls. This can be done using a spoon or an ice cream scoop. Then, wrap each ball in a plastic wrap and place it in a Ziploc bag. Put this in the freezer. These hot chocolate balls last up to two months, so make sure you make extra!

Whenever you are ready for a nice, warm cup, take out a ball from the freezer and put it into a glass of milk. Microwave it for two minutes and enjoy!

To really take your hot chocolate to the next level, follow this chart to spice it up.
