Something that isn’t well known regarding apples is that most apple producers will spray wax on the apples in order to help preserve the fruit. The only problem? You’ll be surprised once you find out how much wax the producers actually put on each apple.

In order to test this for yourself, try pouring boiling hot water on some store-bought apples. You’ll start to see white wax forming on the skin of the apples — definitely not the most appetizing sight!

If you’re not a fan of digesting wax (who is?), try out this simple trick the next time you buy some apples. All it takes is baking soda, lemon juice, lukewarm water, and little bit of elbow grease to make delicious apples that aren’t covered in wax. Interested?
