There’s nothing better than enjoying sugary snacks during the cold winter months, including all those mugs of hot cocoa. It’s the perfect way to warm your belly and your soul!
If you’re a lover of holiday sweets – the following recipe might just blow your mind. That’s because it combines two classic desserts into one amazing creation. We’re talking about “Hot Cocoa Cookies!” Yep, let that soak in for a moment…
Tasty created a video with HERSHEY’S demonstrating how to make chocolatey, marshmallowy, “Hot Cocoa Cookies.” Just know the results might have you wanting to hop through your screen (and I wouldn’t blame you).
Ingredients:
(Makes 24 cookies)
- 3/4 cup HERSHEY’S Cocoa powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 cup HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Chips
- 24 marshmallows
Now it’s time to whip up a batch of these dreamy cookies!
As Tasty says:
“These cookies taste as good as a sip of hot chocolate, and are just as easy to make!”
Step 1:
Start by preheating your oven to 350ºF, then cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2:
Add the HERSHEY’s Cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt to a medium bowl. Whisk ingredients together until combined. Set bowl aside.
Step 3:
Mix the butter, sugar, and brown sugar together in a large bowl until it’s creamy. Then, add in the vanilla and two eggs. Mix again.
Step 4:
Pour your dry ingredients into the large bowl and mix everything together. Doesn’t it look like a chocolate lover’s paradise already?
Step 5:
Here comes even more chocolate… Add your cup of HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Chips to the batter and stir by hand (only until they’re incorporated).
Step 6:
Cover the bowl of cookie dough and set it in the freezer for 10 minutes to chill.
Step 7:
Scoop the dough onto the baking sheet using a 1-oz scooper. Flatten each cookie with your palm, then make a finger indent in each of their centers.
Step 8:
Here come the marshmallows… Place a single marshmallow on top of each cookie in the indent.
Step 9:
Bake the cookies in the oven for approximately 10 minutes. Or, as HERSHEY’S Kitchens explains, “until the center is just set and sides are crispy.” Use a spatula to reposition any marshmallows that may have melted over the cookies’ edges.
Step 10:
As if these babies don’t seem perfectly yummy enough – finish them off with a light sprinkle of some extra cocoa powder. Don’t they look divine?
Who says you can’t have your hot cocoa and eat your cookies too? Now, you can have a delectable, gooey combination all at once. I think I’ve gone to heaven…
Curious what some internet users who’ve made the cookies said about them?
“Made these as soon as I saw the video! They are absolutely wonderful, especially with a cold glass of milk!”
Another person wrote:
“I just made these. They are AMAZING! Chewy, deep cocoa flavor and the marshmallow on top- awesome!”
