It’s just super fun working in the kitchen. Nowadays, men and women alike spend so much time in there that anyone can post their cooking on social media. And with that comes a whole lot of tips and tricks.
This one is all about the beef.
Minced Meat And Rice Hedgehogs
You will need:
- ground beef – 500 g
- oregano – 1 tsp.
- salt – ½ tsp.
- paprika – 1 tsp.
- ground black pepper – ⅓ tsp.
- chili pepper – ¼ tsp.
- dill and parsley – 5 branches
- garlic – 3 cloves
- egg – 1 pc.
- bread – 3 slices
- milk – 100 ml
- basmati rice – 100 g
- boiling water
- onion – 150 g
- bell pepper – 150 g
- tomato – 300 g
- olive oil
- salt – 1 tsp.
- ground black pepper – ⅓ tsp.
- Herbes de Provence – 1 tsp.
Grab a mixing bowl and mix in the ground beef, oregano, salt, paprika, ground black pepper, chili pepper, dill and parsley, and chopped garlic. Crack an egg on top of the mix.
In a separate bowl, pour in your milk then dunk in 3 slices of bread. Now take that soaked bread and add in in the bowl with beef.
Use your hands to mix everything together.
Take another bowl for the basmati rice and pour in the rice with boiling water. Let it sit and cook.
Chop your onions and bell pepper, then use a grater for the tomato but be gentle.
In a hot pan, pour in some olive oil and sautee your onions, bell pepper and tomatoes for 5 minutes. Add in salt and pepper with herbes de provence then cook for 5 minutes.
Grab a handful of the beef mix and roll them into a ball on your palm. Dip the ball of beef in the rice. The rice will stick to the beef so don’t worry.
Fit as many beef balls as you can on the pan with the tomatoes and onions. Simmer for 30 minutes.
Now it’s up to you how you want to plate the meat and rice hedgehogs but do be creative as they really are Instagram-worthy!
Nests of Minced Meat with Mushrooms Recipe
Ingredients:
- onion – 100 g
- champignons – 300 g
- ground beef – 700 g
- marjoram – 1 tsp.
- salt – 1.5 tsp.
- ground black pepper – ½ tsp.
- onion (mashed) – 150 g
- garlic – 3 cloves
- cheese – 150 g
- sour cream 20% – 100 g
- parsley
Grab your chopping board and chop the onions and champignons. Fry the onions for 5 minutes then add in the mushrooms. Cook for another 10 minutes, stirring the onions and champignons occasionally.
With the beef in a bowl, add in marjoram, salt, ground black pepper, mashed onions, and crushed garlic cloves. Use your hand to mix them all together. Have fun!
You’ll need a pan with parchment paper.
Roll the beef mix into balls again and lay them out on the pan. Using the bottom end of a glass, make a small circular space in the middle of the beef balls to create a sort of bowl-like shape.
Sprinkle cheese onto the beef then add a spoonful of the onions and mushroom on top.
Add more cheese on top!
Cover everything with sour cream, smoothing out the layer to make an even coating. Garnish the edges with parsley then pop the pan in an oven and bake for 180 degrees Celsius for 35 minutes.
Watch the beef transform into a nest for the ingredients you added on top.
