A family was dining in peace at a Frenchy’s Chicken restaurant in Houston when, out of nowhere, they overheard a conversation between a customer and the restaurant’s manager. What they heard will definitely shock you.

They decided to share the story online and to their surprise, it went viral.

It all happened during a busy Wednesday evening at Frenchy’s Chicken on Richmond Avenue.

Manager Ahmed Elmadhoun was busy serving hungry customers that evening when suddenly two guests came in and caught his attention.

It was an old lady and her little granddaughter. They patiently waited in line and when they finally reached the counter, she had an unusual request.

Instead of placing an order, she asked if it was possible to talk to the restaurant’s manager directly.

The old lady spoke with Elmadhoun and broke his heart.

The grandmother told Elmadhoun that she was hungry and so was her grandchild, however, she didn’t have the money to buy them a decent meal that evening.

Also waiting at home are her other 8 grandchildren, and to make things worse, their car also ran out of gas.

The reason why she wanted to speak directly with the manager was that she hoped to see if there was a chance for them to get food then just come back the following day to pay it.

She offered to leave her identification cards just to prove that she’d really come back to pay for the food.

Elmadhoun had a better idea.

According to him, that night was extraordinary. It’s not a situation that he’d typically run into.

He told KHOU11:

“Definitely not something you hear every day … She was really going through a tough time. She was pretty embarrassed. I said, ‘Don’t. We all go through tough times.’”

He didn’t take the old woman’s ID’s, but still prepared a large meal for their family.

He packed a big box with chicken and he even added sides and a sweet treat for the kids.

About $45.00 worth of meal absolutely free for the grandmother and her grandchildren.

He also told the old woman not to worry about paying, because all of the food was “on him.”

During his interview with KHOU 11, Elmadhoun recalled the expression on the old woman’s face after handing over the pack of food.

“She was so relieved. She had a smile on her face. She was in awe, couldn’t believe someone would do that.”

Before letting them leave, he told the old woman that if she happened to be in desperate need of help again, she can come back.

He said, “We’re here for you.”

The diners who overheard and witnessed the incident were moved by Elmadhoun’s kindness.

Customer Lowe Petties shared a Facebook post and wrote a story about what they thought had transpired during that beautiful moment. She went on by stating, “God bless this man.”

Then she continued:

“He bought her 25 pcs of chicken family sized fry and greens, he gave her bread drinks and cake with his own money. He told her you owe me nothing and if you get hungry tomorrow COME BACK. Then a patron of the establishment along with Andre Petties put gas in her car. LOOK AT GOD!”

Aside from the post going viral, it also made some headlines!

God bless this man. We went into frenchys to get Journee some fries, there was a lady here with a 3 year old little…
