At Sunfest 2015, Keith Urban decided to share the big stage with a young girl with amazing vocals, and together, they wowed the crowd with their beautiful duo.
The young lady impressed not only Keith Urban but also the 20,000+ people in attendance!
In the video uploaded 5 years ago, Urban was explaining that during performances, it had been their habit to call one person on stage to join them.
By how it sounded, it looked like they already brought one person on stage.
But that night was different because they decided to call another lucky person to perform on stage with him. The young lady is 11-year-old Lauren Spencer-Smith.
And together, they gave the people an evening that they’d never forget for the rest of their lives.
“It was two people,” Keith Urban said before introducing Lauren, “I really loved, and I wanted them both to come in and sing tonight. Particularly this next girl that she’s got an amazing little voice and she’s only eleven.”
She’s beyond fantastic for an 11-year-old girl.
Usually, girls of her age would crumble to their knees when they perform on the big stage in front of a wave of people watching.
Lauren, however, was an exception, because she took the center stage with so much confidence.
It almost looked like it wasn’t her first time, or was it really not? Who knows?
After being introduced by Urban, the audience went on to cheer the young lady.
Not a single trace of pressure was seen on Lauren’s face, she knew that expectations were set on her and that she needed to live up to that.
They sang to “Make you feel my love” by Adele and Bob Dylan.
And surprisingly, Lauren was really good and she didn’t fail the spectators.
Accompanied by the world-class guitar-playing skills of Urban, she mesmerized the tens of thousands of people watching them that evening.
Her voice’s quality was exceptional, she’s the right person to join Urban on stage.
What’s even more surprising was that she didn’t seem intimidated singing next to a world-famous singer. That alone was already extraordinary, wouldn’t you agree?
The 20,000+ people present at that event were not the only ones entertained by the performance.
The video was uploaded on YouTube back in 2015 and has been viewed for more than 4.7 million views since then.
The online viewers were not only amazed by Lauren’s beautiful singing, but also by Urban’s kind gesture in inviting young and aspiring talents to join him on stage.
It’s such a beautiful act coming from a legendary music artist to allow others to shine and be able to showcase their skills to the rest of the world.
