They say that long flights are boring, not to mention the travel nightmare stories that we often see online. So, apart from the fast transport from one place to another, are there really other things that you would love in flights?

Apart from the boredom, stress, and anxiety that long flights bring to passengers, there is also the repetitive safety reminders on board from the flight attendants. If you’ve flown many times in an aircraft then you can probably recite the plane’s safety procedures in your sleep.

Well, this guy, in particular, would probably tell us not to speak in general. And he would show us why.

Welcome to Southwest Airlines!

In a YouTube video that surfaced a year ago, a flight attendant named Robert put on a stand-up comedy stint when he was delivering his safe-trip spiels! The result – absolute hilarity!

As the video uploader wrote on the video caption:

“I was coming back home on a Southwest flight when I discovered I had one of the funniest flight attendants on board with me. It was one of the best flights I have ever been on!”

The guy started with the usual introductory message, until…

First, he welcomed and thanked the passengers for flying with them. He also introduced the cabin members’ names, the pilot, and the co-pilot.

It was an ordinary opening spiel, but when he said that it’s going to be a 2-hour flight, that’s when the “boredom” started to kick in.

The flight attendant knew that his speech would most-likely just yield to sighs and eye rolls from the passengers. So, he decided to give it a twist by mixing it with not a pinch, but a downpour of humor.

Fasten your seatbelts!

We wouldn’t call him funny if he delivered the message like usual. He tells everyone:

“…in the event you have not been in an automobile since 1942, we’re going to show you how to fasten a seatbelt, watch closely. Do this. To unfasten it, you do that.”

We know that seatbelt was invented in the mid-19th century, but hey, it’s already the 21st century, so we should already know how to wear one, right?

All the while, Robert’s comic speech is being demonstrated by another cabin crew member. The spiel and the re-enactment were in-sync which made it even funnier. And how in the world can the other guy even maintain his composure with all the punchlines?

He reminded the passengers that it should be “low and tight” just like the hot pink Speedo that he’d be wearing later that night after the flight.

And yes, funny Robert was just getting started with his little comedy stint.

Wait until you hear the latter parts, you’ll probably end up wanting more of his outrageous commentary. He also pointed out the exits of the plane just in case any of them didn’t like his jokes or their service that night.

And if, unfortunately, you’ll need a life vest.

Robert also gave them instructions on how to properly use a life vest, all in the “unlikely event” the captain turns their flight into a cruise. He said that the life vest, which is commonly mistaken as toilet covers, will save their lives.

No smoking on the plane!

We all know this, don’t we? However, Robert told everyone aboard that if they have a cigarette during the flight – there are two “entertainment lounges” on the plane.

One on the left-wing and the other on the right, but while they’re trying to smoke, everyone else will be watching ‘Gone with the Wind’ and ‘Bye Bye Birdie’.

He said:

“Very simple, very easy, don’t be naughty in the potties. And leave the webcam alone in there, or you’ll end up on YouTube next week.”

We’re not sure if he’s really a flight attendant or a stand-up comedian.

According to Yahoo! News, Robert has been a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines since 2005. Unsurprisingly, they weren’t the only passengers he’s made laugh. Finally, he ended his funny speech with a song set to the classic Barney tune:

“We love you. You love us. We’re much faster than the bus. We hope you enjoy our hospitality, marry one of us and you’d fly free.”
