Firemen respond to emergency situations and put their lives on the line just to save people in danger. However, this fireman is not carrying an injured person and he is also not on a fire rescue. He is at a safe and sound train station, carrying an uninjured young lady.

Everyone’s puzzled and so are we.

The incident took place at St Pancras Railway Station in London when a man donning a fireman suit was seen carrying a young woman. Soon, we realized that they’re headed to a public piano that’s situated inside the railway station.

The man puts the girl down and then he sits in front of the piano, just seconds after they start to perform, taking everyone by surprise with their impromptu performance. As you watch closely, you’ll realize who the fireman is.

He is none other than Dr K!

He’s a famous British pianist and piano teacher of Irish descent, his name is Brendan Kavanagh. He is known for his public piano performances, most of his videos actually went viral because he disguises himself whenever he does his public act.

It’s also thanks to the “Play Me, I’m Yours” project by UK artist Luke Jerram.

It’s been touring internationally since 2008. From the project’s name itself, it aims to invite people, both professionals and amateurs, to play on public pianos that they have situated in some famous places worldwide.

“More than 1500 pianos have now been installed in over 50 cities across the globe, from New York to London… The project has reached more than 10 million people worldwide, with each new city that commissions the work becoming part of a growing legacy.”

Dr K specializes in the boogie-woogie genre of music, therefore, he needs someone who can keep up with it.

That’s why he chose this young lady named Cara McKinnon.

She knows how to tap dance and she’s the perfect partner to Kavanagh’s music. When the two performers are ready, they immediately start what they do best, and that is to entertain people.

From the train passengers coming in and out of the station up to the passers-by, everyone present is up for a music and dance treat from Dr K and McKinnon.

The unsuspecting onlookers are stunned!

It all begins as soon as Kavanagh starts hammering the keyboard and Cara tap-dancing on the side. The people can’t help but give the awesome performers a glance of amazement, even those commuters pulling their luggage are put to a sudden stop.

Dr K really lives up to his name, his fingers are so fast that they almost look like they’re under a spell. While McKinnon, on the other hand, is powerfully stomping along with the upbeat music of her professional pianist partner.

It’s like watching an admission-free stage performance, they get the best of both arts- music and dance in one show! We can’t tell if they did some practice for this act, but one thing is certain though, they made such a good tandem.

The people online are also amazed, in fact, the video of their performance was uploaded on YouTube three years ago and has gained over 3 million views since then.

One user jokingly commented about the real purpose of a “fireman.”

“Hey! You’re a fireman, you’re supposed to put out fires not start them.”

While this one was amazed by the fact that such a young girl like McKinnon still tap dances.

“I didn’t know anyone learned tap anymore! Love it – always have! I miss a good musical”
