Here are some of our favorite tips from the video:
1. Importance of variety
Having a variety of foods to eat makes you excited to prepare homecooked meals and eat them throughout the week. Gather several easy-to-prepare recipes as a start and try preparing them in your kitchen.
2. Having several sizes of Tupperware
Part of meal prep is proper storage for your food to ensure safety. Getting several sizes help you put the right amount of food into the right size of container or Tupperware so that you can save space as well. These are also useful for food organization.
Pro Home Cooks also emphasized the importance of having a really strong locking system for your containers so that you can be sure that they won’t leak, especially if you are on the go.
Having good quality and assorted sizes of Tupperware is a good investment.
3. Cook the all-purpose grain
You can go for lentil, rice, or quinoa, whatever it is that you prefer. This will go well with your dishes.
4. Prepare healthy snacks
To avoid just grabbing whatever you can that is not healthy for your body; it is a lot better to prepare those healthy snacks. You can go for various options, and they won’t take so much of your time.
You can make your own trail mix using various kinds of nuts, add raisins and chocolates. You can also make your guilt-free ice cream which makes a perfect dessert.
5. Make meal prep fun
“Look at meal prep thing as a way to experiment and try new things in the kitchen because there’s nothing less motivating than cooking the same thing over and over again,” according to Mike G.
Several recipes can be learned by going online or listening to podcasts. This can help you a lot to improve and enjoy home cooking and meal prep more.
