With Easter just around the corner, it’s never too early to start thinking about what you’ll serve for dinner.
There are always classic holiday options like ham and turkey, but why not mix it up a bit this time around?
If you’re feeling festive and want to create a dish that is as stunning as it is delicious then this recipe is for you.
The Jelly Easter Egg
The recipe comes to us from the YouTube page Nat Ura. Nat has all kinds of great ideas for you if cooking is your thing!
For this awesome dish, we’ll be making a chicken and veggie gelatin Easter egg.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, that sounds a little too weird to be good. But trust me on this one, it is just as fun to look at and to make as it is to eat.
First, start with some chicken breast.
Go ahead and drop that chicken into a pot.
Add carrot, parsley, and celery.
Once you have these ingredients in the pot, be sure to add some bay leaves, allspice, and salt to give it a little flavor.
Fill the pot with water and simmer for about an hour.
Take out some eggs.
Poke a hole in the tops of the eggs and remove them from the shell.
Sanitize the shells.
Do this by boiling another pot of water, then pour the water into a bowl with the eggshells.
Soak the shells in the hot water for a while, being sure to sanitize the inside and the outside of the eggs.
When they are done, place them in the carton to dry.
Now back to our simmering pot.
Once that hour is up, remove all of the ingredients from the pot and place them onto a cutting board.
Chop them all up nice and fine.
Add any other veggies you’d like here.
In the video below, a pepper was added for taste.
Once you have all of your ingredients chopped and ready, go and grab your hollow eggs.
You’re going to fill the eggshells up very carefully with the chicken and veggies, right up to the top!
Time to gel it up.
Once you have filled all of your eggs, it’s time to mix the gelatin. Take some gelatin powder and mix it with water until it is the right consistency.
Then, pour the gelatin into the hole of the egg, filling it up to the top as well.
Once you have filled all of the eggs, put them into the fridge to harden.
After a few hours, you can remove the eggs and peel the shells away from them.
And that’s it!
Now you are ready to serve the most exciting dish that anyone has ever seen.
