They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast replenishes your body’s supply of nutrients after going for long hours of sleep without any food.

That’s why it’s important to make sure that your breakfast is protein-rich and filling.

But don’t you sometimes get sick of the same breakfast staples?

No one wants to make the same food every day.

You don’t cook the same lunches and dinners, so why would you have the same breakfast?

If you are getting bored of the same old scrambled eggs, here’s a fresh new idea for you and your family, from the German YouTube chef, Lieblingsrezepte.

It’s pretty easy and doesn’t require many ingredients.

Like most breakfasts, this doesn’t require intense preparation. You are going to want the right ingredients though.

To get started, you’ll need 4 potatoes, 4 eggs, and 4 ounces of ham.

Then, to flavor those base ingredients, you’ll need a few extras. All you need is spring onions, flour, salt, pepper, and olive oil.

First, slice some ingredients up.

Peel the whole potato. Take a grater and just go to town on it.

You’ll want your potato to be reduced to little slivers.

Put the potato slices into a bowl with water and let it soak a little bit while you are slicing everything else.

While the potato is soaking, you should move on to the spring onion and cut it up as well. Then, do the same with the ham. You want these pieces to all be quite thin. When that’s all done, combine those ingredients in a dry bowl.

Now it’s on to the eggs.

You want your egg whites and yolks to be separated.

Grease a small bowl with olive oil to keep the yolks. When you crack your egg, make sure the whites go into the bowl with all the other ingredients and then put the yolks separately into their own bowl.

Next, it’s time to start cooking.

In the big bowl with all the ingredients, throw in some salt, pepper, and flour.

The flour will help everything hold together because after you mix these ingredients together, you’re putting them in a saucepan.

Scoop out little balls of the mixture and place them individually in the hot pan. Make sure that each ball of food has a hole in the middle while it’s cooking.

Fry that for 2-3 minutes.

Add the egg yolks.

I hope you didn’t throw out those egg yolks. After the potato-ham mixture has fried on its own a little bit, go ahead and add the egg yolks to the center, right where you made holes. The eggs should fit perfectly in there.

Now, cook that all together, and make sure you flip it at some point to get an even cook on both sides.

The end result is a breakfast meal unlike anything else.

Your taste buds will thank you for this one and so will your kids.

By the end of the cooking, the egg yolks should be fried right in with the rest of the mixture, and the spring onions help make this completely flavorful.
