One in 10 people considers their partner eating McDonald's without them as bad as cheating

The pandemic has forced a lot of people to stay at home. It has also forced a lot of restaurants to temporarily close. As a result, people’s cravings got more intense. Some people’s appreciation for their favorite food was taken to a whole different level.

Based on a poll involving 1,000 fast-food fans, 1 in 20 feel desperate to get a taste of their favorite Maccies after spending months without eating one.

And that’s not all. If they find out that their better-half went for a drive-thru without them, they would easily break up with them. Shocking, right?

And for 1 in 5 of the participants, their first taste of the famous burger after the lockdown was way better than getting a pay raise. 16% consider it better than getting a promotion at work.

16% of the loyal fans, on the other hand, revealed that the experience can be compared to the birth of their very first child. 13% think that it’s better than the day they got married.

Almost a fifth of the respondents felt happier getting their McDonald’s fix that seeing their favorite football team win.

Loyal fans would give up important things in their lives for their favorite fast-food chain.

46% of them are very much willing to give up their booze for a McDonald’s treat. 1 in 10 can give up their mobile phones for it. Meanwhile, 30% of fans are alright with not being able to watch sport for an entire year if they can get their favorite food from the famous fast-food chain.

Since most people are forced to stay inside and work from home, 22% of people said that getting their Sausage & Egg McMuffin on their way to work was what they missed the most. For 21% of people, it’s taking the family to the drive-thru.

And for shoppers? 21% said they missed stopping by their favorite fast food while out buying things.

There’s no evidence suggesting people can get COVID-19 from food and food packaging. However, this shouldn’t stop you from being extra careful when dining out or getting your food delivered.

For your safety, remember to wash your hands with soap and water for about 20 seconds. Do this for general food safety and not just when eating at McDonald’s. Wash your hands before and after eating anything. If soap and water aren’t around, you can use hand sanitizers.

The company is strongly encouraging its costumers and diners to use DIY masks and face coverings. Apart from that, you should also expect a huge difference when it comes to experience.

The food is still good but the vibe may be different.

Compared with the noisy McDonald’s we experience before the pandemic, it’s now a bit more quite. Marked spots can be seen telling people where to get in line. There are also spots for delivery workers.

99% of their restaurants are already open but most of them are operating on limited hours. This is their way of acting in line with local regulations and ensure everyone’s safety. If the nearest one to you is closed and you’re planning on looking for an open one, don’t forget to bring your partner. You wouldn’t want to go through a breakup just because you sneaked for a driver-thru.
