There’s nothing quite like a glass of milk and some Oreo cookies! And while that combo will never fail to hit the spot, there’s a creative way to spice it up.

Imagine taking your cookies and milk to the next level by turning them into a warm, gooey cake. A cute mug cake!

Once you try this delicious recipe, you’ll never go back to the simple plain cookie-to-milk dunk again.

The best part is that it doesn’t require much to make that glow up happen. All you need is a mug, fork, some milk, and some Oreos. So, in other words, if you’re anything like me, things you’ll already have on hand!

Valentina Mussi, also known as sweetportfolio on Instagram, shared this quick recipe which just takes a few minutes to throw together.

Grab your mug and toss five or six Oreos into it, then top it up with milk until the cookies are almost covered.

Use the fork to mash them up together until the mixture is more or less the consistency of cake batter.

You’re already more than halfway there!

Just pop that mug in the microwave for about a minute and a half, but do check on it regularly. Before you know it, that microwave will ding, so get your fork ready.

Believe it or not, you’re all set to dig into that delicious warm and gooey Oreo cookie cake. Yum!

The Instagram video also offered two suggestions to make the simple mug cake even more incredible, if you can believe it.

The first tip, is to drop a Lindt chocolate ball into the centre of the mug.

Who doesn’t love to indulge with a Lindt chocolate for an extra special treat?

Not only is it rich, it will give you a little extra moisture and create a lava cake-like consistency.

And then for anyone who has an even sweeter tooth, or a taste for white chocolate, this next variation is for you.

Swap out regular Oreos for the golden variety. You still use the same amount of milk to fill the mug, mix it up, but instead of a Lindt chocolate, try a white chocolate Reese’s egg.

There’s no limit to how creative you can get with these simple steps. Try different fillings, top it with a caramel or chocolate sauce, or even different cookies.

Peanut butter cookies? Yes please!

The tasty possibilities are endless – I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

And what’s best about these, is not just that they take so little time, but that they can be made to suit every individual.

Unlike a regular cake which takes hours to prepare one flavor, these mug cakes take a few minutes to throw together and can be quickly altered.

If you and your partner have different taste buds, no problem. Your kids prefer white chocolate? Easy as pie!

Everyone can have what they want. In fact, speaking of which… I think I’ll go whip up an Oreo mug cake of my own right now!
