Bread pudding originated from the old English times to turn stale bread into something fresh, hot, and delicious.

This recipe uses Challah bread, and its thick crust can give more texture to your pudding. You can also use brioche, croissant, or raisin bread to add a bit of sweetness to your pudding. Cut the bread into smaller slices, around an inch thick, and place them in a baking dish.

One important factor of a tasty and moist pudding is the batter.

Just beat the eggs and add the ingredients one by one as you continue mixing them after each ingredient. You can adjust the sugar if you don’t want it to be too sweet, and the vanilla if its aroma can be overpowering for you.

You can add other ingredients to the mix if you like.

This recipe is very straightforward and doesn’t add much to the mixture, but it’s your choice to add something else for added flavor, texture, and aroma. You can add fruits and nuts for something chewy and crunchy, or some dried fruits and nutmeg for flavor and aroma.

But the key to a great pudding? Soaking the bread in the batter!

Pour the batter into the dish of cut-up bread and make sure it’s evenly spread. You can also use a (measuring cup) to scoop some of the batter and pour it on equal portions of the dish. Use a spatula to press the bread to soak it further. Give it time so it will absorb enough batter.

Bake it for 50 minutes in 350 degrees Fahrenheit heat.

Allow it to cool down for around twenty to thirty minutes so it won’t fall apart on your dish. You’ll know you baked the perfect pudding when it comes off springy when you touch the top of it. You can serve this hot or chilled from the refrigerator.
