You only need 2 main ingredients for this recipe, although you are free to add whatever it is that you think would add more flavor to it.

  • 250 grams of naturally dried figs
  • 200 grams of roasted peanuts

If you have these ready, then you should be all set.

Turns out, dried figs hold a lot of health benefits.

“Considered by many as “nature’s candy,” figs are high in natural sugars. Since these sugars are further concentrated by the drying process, they’re relatively high in calories and should be eaten in moderation by anyone managing diabetes,” The Vegan Atlas wrote on their website. “Figs are good sources of potassium and calcium, both key minerals for improving bone density. They contain a good dose of prebiotic fiber, so they’re also good for digestion and satiety…Other key nutrients found in figs include Potassium, Iron, Magnesium, and Vitamins A and C.”

Hold your horses, you’d be done sooner than you think.

Step 1: Grab your naturally-dried figs and put them inside a large bowl. Then pour hot water in and make sure each piece is completely soaked. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 2: Next is putting the roasted peanuts into a powder-like state by using an electric chopper. If you don’t have an electric chopper, you may use other kitchen tools like a grater’s finest side. Once done, put it in a large mixing bowl and set it aside for later.

Step 3: Go back to your soaked dried figs and using a kitchen knife, slice them into 4 pieces. Next is by putting them into a powder-like state just like what you did to the roasted peanuts.

Step 4: Put it in the large mixing bowl together with the roasted peanuts. Wear some gloves and start massaging the mixture using your hands until both ingredients are well-mixed with each other.

Step 5: Once both ingredients are already well-mixed, pinch an approximately 25 grams portion from the mixture and form a ball out of it. Do this step repeatedly until you run out of your mixture.

Step 6: Lastly, put a cellophane inside a juicer and use it to shape the dried figs and roasted peanuts mixture. From balls, their shape must turn into something like Hershey’s chocolate kisses.
