Going through a divorce is a life-changing event that can leave many people feeling a little down about themselves. But, one Minneapolis woman who was going through a divorce knew just what she needed to get the fresh start she deserved.
They say when you look good, you feel good. So, getting a makeover just makes sense, right?
Lori wasn’t messing around, she went right for the expert for her makeover.
She contacted Christopher Hopkins, also known as The Makeover Guy.
Christopher owns a beauty salon in Minneapolis and shows off some of his makeovers on his YouTube channel.
He’s the real deal when it comes to makeovers.
His YouTube description of his particular video with Lori highlights his accomplishments. Christopher has a best-selling book “Staging Your Comeback” which has remained in the top ten in Aging and Beauty category on Amazon for over a decade.
He’s also a baritone soloist who has performed with The Minnesota Orchestra, Hannover Radio Philharmonic, Erie Philharmonic, and the Grand Teton Music Festival.
While Christopher has done tons of makeovers, this one hit home.
He and Lori were from the same neighborhood and graduated from high school around the same time. Christopher started Lori’s makeover with her hair. At the beginning of the video, you can hear Lori telling Christopher to “just do it, whatever you want.” You can tell that she really trusts Christopher’s judgment!
Many people may think they’re stuck in the same rut when it comes to their hair. They fail to see the potential that lies within.
For Lori, Christopher and his team cut her hair a little bit shorter than she was used to. He also changed her color a bit to a bright, brownish color.
Christopher comments in the video caption,
“I did the cut which needed more length still. She said she’d come back in 6 months but I’ve yet to see her! Hello Lori!”
To date, we still don’t know if she went back for the cut, but we hope so!
If you’re going to have great hair, you need to have fresh make-up to go along with it.
The make-up crew gave Lori a natural look that left her feeling stronger and more self-confident.
All Lori has to do is read some of the comments on her video to see how much people noticed and liked her new look. Here’s just a sample of the comments:

It seems as though people love watching makeovers and seeing great results. Christopher’s YouTube channel has more than 300,000 subscribers.
Lori’s video alone has had more than 1.5 million views!
You can tell from Lori’s reaction that she simply loved her new look. When Christopher asked her if she thought it was something she could keep up on her own, she said yes!
Lori’s smile at the end of the video, says it all! Here’s hoping that this makeover gave her the fresh start she wanted.
