Food is the one topic we all love. After all, it’s one of the world’s greatest pleasures. With so many different styles and ways of cooking, food has become one of the most diverse, divisive, and uniting factors that could forge friendships over time. With that said, let’s find out which foods are hated by each state. You’ll be hungry after this one.
1. Alabama
The people in Alabama don’t have the stomach for Chipotle. Known for using high quality natural and organic ingredients in its food, this Mexican place cannot seem to crack its Alabama market.
2. Alaska
They have no love for Voss water. Maybe being surrounded by water has them no longer caring about Voss. There’s an abundance of the stuff anyway.
3. Arizona
Residents of Arizona have no love for Kombucha. They won’t have it regardless of the many health benefits being claimed. There must be other alternatives.
4. Arkansas
Cilantro does not find itself welcome in the state of Arkansas. To be fair, not everyone likes cilantro. Though others use it for many medical conditions, there’s no evidence to back it up.
5. California
Chick-fil-A is not one Californians enjoy. As laid back as the place is, the men and women in the state would rather go elsewhere for a good meal.
6. Colorado
The people of Colorado cannot find a soft spot for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Odd, considering it’s so easy to open and snack on. Maybe pair it with a beer or two so they’ll eventually love the stuff.
7. Connecticut
Canned food gets canned in this state. Maybe they prefer fresh ingredients that can be cooked from scratch. But when you’re in a hurry, or too lazy, canned may be a good option.
8. Washington DC
Oddly enough, turkey bacon isn’t popular here. Maybe they prefer just eating the turkey in itself. Still, imagine turkey bacon right now. The thought of it makes one salivate.
9. Delaware
Hawaiian pizza, that is pizza with bits of pineapple on it, cannot be stomached by Delaware’s citizens. Pineapple on pizza is a very hot debate so pick a side and fire away.
10. Florida
Floridians reject licorice. It’s one of those quirky preferences, and even other people from all over the world either like it or not. It’s not for everyone.
11. Georgia
Tuna salad seems to be the one recipe they can’t warm up to. Perhaps a better version of the recipe spread on good bread can change their minds.
12. Hawaii
One of the most beautiful places on earth despises coke. Maybe it’s the sugar content, but it is Hawaii, a place best experienced with other… refreshments.
13. Idaho
Idaho has no place for dim sum on their menus. One has to wonder how many Chinese restaurants are open in the state. And if they make any money.
14. Illinois
Apparently, they’re not so much in to string cheese. Especially when others bite into the stuff instead of peeling it like any normal person. Still, it’s cheese.
15. Indiana
The simple folks here cannot stand a charcuterie plate. Maybe it takes too much time to arrange, then someone has to take photos of it, before people can actually dig in.
16. Iowa
People here turn away from quinoa. Considering the seeds are rich in protein, dietary fiber, B vitamins, and dietary minerals in amounts greater than in many grains, you’d think they’d care for the benefits.
17. Kansas
Well since they’re far from the ocean, Kansas folks aren’t really into shellfish. What they do have are some of the best ribs. The kind that’s so easy to love.
18. Kentucky
Hummus isn’t the kind of humor thrown around here. But who knows, give it some time and maybe a couple of influencers can get them to enjoy the stuff.
19. Louisiana
They’ve got awesome food over there but cookies with raisins are hard to find. It’s not something that tickles their fancy. Then again not everyone likes raisins.
20. Maine
Asian fusion is out for this state. Perhaps that’s an open invitation for Asian businessmen to open restaurants over there. Might be the start of a revolution.
21. Maryland
Nothing to hate here but they’d rather have the entire brownie. Don’t ever give them a corner or a small piece. They’ve got good taste in desserts.
22. Massachusetts
Mayonnaise leaves a nasty taste, at least as far as they’re concerned. Ketchup is fine, but the white stuff may turn off some folks here. Not unless you can convert a few.
23. Michigan
Well no one really likes cold pizza. But the people from Michigan like theirs piping hot. It’s understandable since it can get really cold. Sounds like a match made in heaven.
24. Minnesota
No beans over there. There’s an aversion to the stuff but maybe some folks find beans to be acceptable for certain dishes. Perhaps it’s just a general distaste for them.
25. Mississippi
It’s a shocking revelation. They don’t like sour cream. Or maybe they just need to discover the many uses and combos of this delicious dip. Grab a few chips for them, please.
26. Missouri
Hotdogs aren’t that popular in Missouri. If you find yourself craving for one, you may have to walk a lot of miles just to find a seller. Or go for a burger.
27. Montana
It’s not a place for pumpkin spice. It’s a blend of ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and sometimes allspice that’s mixed in recipes and even lattes. None of that in Montana, sadly.
28. Nebraska
Chili peppers can’t find their crowd in the state of Nebraska. They go so well with many dishes so who knows what they use to substitute these red berries.
29. Nevada
Nevadans cannot stand La Croix. It’s just carbonated water but maybe all these millenials going around with them have gotten to the people of Nevada.
30. New Hampshire
Walk in a bar in this state and chances are you’ll find it harder to order cocktails. Sure they’ll make them for you, but that doesn’t mean they enjoy drinking them.
31. New Jersey
Well maybe some enjoy gas station wine but that would mean drinking then driving. So New Jersey folks have a point. Then again if you need a nightcap… Why not.
32. New Mexico
No chicken nuggets for the good people of New Mexico. You know, the really soft, golden bites that everyone just loves to snack on. But hey, to each his own.
33. New York
New York style pizza is the stuff of dreams. But New Yorkers won’t have theirs with ranch dressing. Then again, it’s not exactly something most pizza lovers would do.
34. North Carolina
Residents of NC won’t have cottage cheese. It’s low in calories and high in protein though, so athletes may want to consider adding this to their diet.
35. North Dakota
It’s not about a certain dish or ingredient here, but the size of the plate. No small plates in this state. When you come for a visit, you come to feast. Not a bad thing at all.
36. Ohio
This is sad. Ohio is a no pesto zone. At least for the majority. But find a good Italian restaurant and they’ll surely whip up your favorite dish. It’s one of the best flavors ever.
37. Oklahoma
Veggie burgers are yet to gain fans in this state. They’re actually pretty good when made right. Just like any burger, it takes a special hand to perfect.
38. Oregon
Here’s another state that seems to like “real” food. They aren’t to keen on fast food. Sure, you’ll find them but fast food chains here don’t really get a lot of exposure.
39. Pennsylvania
Chai tea lattes aren’t popular here. It’s got lots of calories and sugar so they’re on to something. But it is a good way to load up for a busy day. Still, it’s not their cup of tea.
40. Rhode Island
Capers aren’t their thing and that’s a shame. They go so well in many dishes but you really cannot force it down people’s throats. But maybe in time, who knows.
41. South Carolina
Matcha found its match with the people of South Carolina. Matcha tea isn’t a go to drink for the residents of SC, so it may be hard to find if you’re craving for one.
42. South Dakota
Expensive cheese plates are rejected in this state. Men and women here have no need for all the show it seems. They just want to dig in and enjoy what’s on the table.
43. Tennessee
Foraged food isn’t too hot here. Then again why bother when anyone can head down to the local supermarket and just stuff their carts with what they need. It is 2021.
44. Texas
Texas. It’s steak everywhere. Order it right though or you’ll upset the locals. No one here likes their meat well done. It’s a waste of good steak anyway. Keep it pink in the middle.
45. Utah
Balsamic vinegar has such a unique taste to it. Goes well with almost anything since it’s from Italy. Too bad the people of Utah don’t enjoy this dark vinegar.
46. Vermont
Vermont makes wonderful cheeses so it’s only right that they hate the fake stuff. Why bother with them when you can buy the real stuff. Way better.
47. Virginia
It’s not a dish they hate, but it’s more of how people waste pizza grease with their napkins. Grab that crust, dab it on the grease and finish the whole thing.
48. Washington
Keurig k cups won’t make you famous here. You’ll have to find another way if you want to brew. Then again, it’s your choice. Just know that they’re not exactly popular here.
49. West Virginia
Keep tofu away from the people of West Virginia. They’re not too keen on tofu so if ever you find yourself over there with a craving for it, you’ll have to find a shop that sells them.
50. Wisconsin
They’re practical for those constantly on the go but the people in Wisconsin have no love for Lunchables. They would rather prepare their meals the night before than spend for these.
51. Wyoming
Bring all the gluten here since they will not have any of that gluten-free nonsense. This protein binder won’t ever find a home in this state. It’s neither healthy or unhealthy though.
