Fast food lovers across the country shared all of their favorite foods from famous restaurants in their states, and the results might surprise you. It turns out, the menu isn’t always the same everywhere you go.
In New Mexico, McDonald’s puts green chiles on their burgers, and in New Hampshire, they actually offer lobster rolls. There are some weird fast food items that you simply can’t find anywhere else — you have to go directly to the source.

If you live in the South, you’ve probably been to a Zaxby’s before. Although, have you ever been to one in Arkansas? Their buffalo chicken finger plate will make your mouth water.
2. Roast Beef Sandwich – Kelly’s Roast Beef in Massachusetts
The roast beef sandwich is an essential item in Massachusetts. One of the best places to get one is at Kelly’s where they have the tastiest roast beef sandwich around. Your taste buds will be very happy afterward.
3. Super Potato Olés – Taco John’s in Wyoming
These are potatoes topped with nacho toppings. Think refried beans, ground beef, nacho cheese, and cheddar cheese just to name a few of the many items that are piled on. It’s a heaping mess of delicious goodness.

4. Caliente Burger – Tommy’s in California
The caliente burger is pretty spicy. After all, the word “caliente” in Spanish means hot, very hot. It might cause your mouth to catch on fire, but it’s totally worth it!
5. Kodiak Islander – Arctic Roadrunner in Alaska
There is a reason that this burger is so popular. In addition to the burger itself, it includes ham, bologna, salami, and multiple types of cheese. It’s finally topped off with an onion ring.
6. Potato Doughnuts – The Holy Donut in Maine
There is no better way to start the day in the morning than with a cup of coffee and a doughnut. Why not make it a potato doughnut? They are made with mashed potatoes instead of flour and coated in icing with maple bacon.
7. Cheese Curds – Dairy Queen in Wisconsin
Most people go to Dairy Queen to get ice cream or a burger. However, in Wisconsin, you can pick up a carton of cheese curds along with your Blizzard. It sounds like the perfect combination.

8. ‘Shroom Burger – Shake Shack in Connecticut
It looks like two regular burgers stacked together. However, there is a secret. One of the burgers is actually a deep-fried portobello mushroom.
9. Crawfish Étouffée Dog – Dat Dog in Louisiana
It’s a hot dog with a crawfish Étouffée smothered on top. It’s finished off with a creole mustard. You won’t find anything else like this dish except for in Louisiana.
10. SW Ranch Taco Burger – Miner’s Drive-In Restaurant in Washington
Is it a burger or a taco? That is the question. Although, if one thing is for sure, it’s that after a trip to Miner’s Drive-In, you won’t be going home hungry.

If you enjoy the flavors of Thanksgiving, you will love this sub. It has turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayonnaise, all combined into one. It’s served cold and is super tasty.
12. Whale of a Sandwich – Moby Dick in Kentucky
Every fillet is made from real Atlantic Cod. There are no fillers in this fish sandwich. It’s just the basics — fish fresh from the ocean, battered and deep-fried, then served on slices of bread with a side of tartar sauce.
13. The Duke – Tudor’s Biscuit World in West Virginia
It’s the ultimate breakfast sandwich. The Duke has bacon, egg, cheese, and a hash brown in the middle. It’s all sandwiched between a flaky buttermilk biscuit.
14. Chicken Tender Sub – Publix in Florida
People who live in Florida really love Publix. Sure, it’s just a normal supermarket. However, they have a chicken tender sub that people go absolutely crazy for.
15. Duck Fat Fries – The Burger Stand in Kansas
Fast food restaurants all used to use animal fats to cook their french fries. At some point, most moved away from the practice. However, at The Burger Stand, duck fat fries covered in gravy is still the standard.

17. Chili Cheese Fries with Ranch – Krystal in Georgia
It can be enjoyed as a main meal or paired with a couple of cheese Krystals (AKA cheeseburgers). There is nothing more southern than some chili cheese fries from Krystal. When you’re passing through the state of Georgia, you have to make a pitstop.
18. Mac ‘n’ Cheese Burger – Zombie Burger in Iowa
Here is another restaurant that includes mac and cheese with their burger. However, it’s not as a topping. The deep-fried mac and cheese is actually used as the bun of the burger. When you take a bite, it will come exploding out.
19. The Georgia Burger – Beansie’s Bus in Vermont
It seems strange to be eating a burger called the Georgia Burger when living in the state of Vermont. However, after you’ve discovered how good it tastes, you’ll quickly forget all about the confusing name. It’s a bacon cheeseburger served between two glazed donuts.
20. Saimin – McDonald’s in Hawaii
Unless you’ve ever been to Hawaii, there is a good chance that you’ve never even heard of saimin. However, a trip to McDonald’s on the island wouldn’t be complete without it. It’s a wheat egg noodle soup with green onions.

21. Butter Burger – Culver’s in Indiana
We can’t imagine that it’s very healthy. However, you get the butter burger for the flavor, not for the low-calorie count. The name is a bit deceiving too. The burgers don’t contain any butter, it is actually only spread on the buns.
22. Kangaroo Burger – Lucky 13 in Utah
You don’t have to go to Australia to sample kangaroo meat anymore. Simply head to Utah. At Lucky 13, they’ve created the perfect patty out of ground kangaroo and wild game spices.

23. Idaho Ice Cream Potato – Westside Drive-In in Idaho
In Idaho, even the ice cream is potato-shaped. Famous Chef Lou at the Westside Drive-In does it the best. It’s vanilla ice cream, rolled in cocoa powder, and topped with chocolate syrup and whipped cream.

At Torchy’s Tacos, the fried-chicken trailer park taco is really a thing! It’s one of the best Tex-Mex joints in the state. What could be better than fried chicken in taco form?

It might be hard to believe, but yes, there is a potato somewhere underneath all of those toppings. The classic is just pepperoni and cheese. However, once you start customizing yours with additional veggies and meats, the sky is the limit.

It’s named for the wide variety of ingredients that they stuff in there. The fat sandwiches offered from RU Hungry end up bursting at the seams. They contain things like burgers, chicken fingers, french fries, mozzarella sticks, and jalapeño poppers.

31. Green Chile Double Cheeseburger – McDonald’s in New Mexico
It might not look like much, but it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Underneath the bun of every burger is a couple of green chiles. In New Mexico, they put green chiles on everything. It adds the perfect amount of spice and flavor.

Hash browns and chicken is already a good breakfast combination. Add a layer or two of cheesy eggs on top and what more could a person ask for? It’s the breakfast of choice for many South Carolinians.

If you’ve already had one of these giant chili burgers, you’re likely going to want another. Not because they aren’t filling, but because of just how good they are. For some people, they really are addicting!

The garbage plate is the dish that the restaurant is most well-known for. People come from far and wide to enjoy the mix of fries, meats, salads, and sauces. It has a little bit of everything piled on it.

The pizza strips are one of the most popular items at the Italian restaurant. They are served at room temperature, without cheese. It’s just bread and heaps of sauce. You definitely can’t skimp on the sauce!

McDonald’s biscuits and gravy might be a little more pricy than Braum’s, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it. Which restaurant has the best biscuits and gravy is a big debate in the state of Missouri. Everyone has an opinion.

37. Firehouse Meatball – Firehouse Subs in North Dakota
It’s a meatball sub baked to perfection. Just look at all of that melted cheese on top. Although, no firehouse meatball sub would be complete without the flavorful pickle on the side either.
38. Pastrami & Cheese – Primanti Bros in Pennsylvania
One of the problems with pastrami and cheese sandwiches is that restaurants often don’t include enough pastrami. However, at Primanti Bros, you won’t have that problem! Their pastrami and cheese is huge.
39. Fried Pork Chop Sandwich – Pork Chop John’s in Montana
Pork chops are always better if they’re battered and deep-fried. Notice that we said better, not healthier. Serve them up with some mustard and pickles and you’ll have yourself quite a treat.
40. Tacos – Burger King in Ohio
Most people go to Taco Bell to get tacos. However, in Ohio, Burger King offers some pretty serious competition. A Burger King taco is something to really write home about.
41. Voodoo Dolls – Voodoo Doughnut in Oregon
They don’t just offer your standard glazed and powdered doughnuts. Nope, at Voodoo Doughnuts, your dessert is also photo-worthy. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried one of their tasty voodoo dolls.
42. Yankee Burrito – Amigos in Nebraska
In Nebraska, Amigos is one of the go-to places for fast food Mexican. Although, technically, their Yankee burrito is probably more Nebraskan than Mexican. It has a hot dog and cheese in it!

43. Theta Burgers – Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler in Oklahoma
There is nothing too out of the ordinary with this burger. It has barbecue sauce, bacon, cheddar cheese, and pickles on it. It’s the simplicity and quality of ingredients that really make this burger shine.
44. Lobster Rolls – McDonald’s in New Hampshire
No trip to New Hampshire is complete without a lobster roll. They are so popular in the New England state that you can even get them at McDonald’s. It’s a seafood dish served up fast-food style.
45. Chicken Tenders – Raising Cane’s in Nevada
They’re crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, just how chicken tenders should be. It might not be worth an entire road trip to Nevada to try them, but if you’re already in the state, why not? According to Nevadans, they are the absolute best!
