With the summer ending and the arrival of the fall, we also welcome the flu season. This is the part of the year when we need to be extra careful so we won’t end up sick nor we’ll help with the spread of viruses!

Since the beginning of March and COVID-19’s new norm, we became a little bit experts ourselves on how to prevent and manage unexpected flues. So, this year in particular our bodies would need something extra to boost our weakened immune system. And one would argue that one of the most well-known superfoods for a strong immune system is the…Chicken Soup!

Chicken soup has been an all-times’ favourite as its broth is full of healthy nutritients. It has been used for its healing properties since thousands of years ago and people still today prefer a bowl of chicken soup over medication.

The secret lies in the broth, and particularly in the nutritients and minerals that are released when simmering the bones. The broth that is produced is considered “therapeutic” as it boosts the whole body. Many people drink a cup of the bone broth daily as it helps with the collagen production and protects the health of the joints, bones and skin!

The recipe is done with boneless chicken breast which means you will need to use a ready-made chicken broth or from your own stock. Of course, if you are up to it, you might want to prepare the chicken broth from the beginning, therefore using a chicken with its bones.
