“When I was a boy, I always saw myself as a hero in comic books and in movies. I grew up believing this dream.” – Elvis Presley

Not all heroes wear capes, and more importantly, not all heroes possess superhuman strengths or superpowers.

This young boy literally saved his little sister’s life!

My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog. He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn’t get his sister. He later said, “If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me.” He got home from the hospital last night. I know it’s a long shot, but I’m reaching out to the Avengers and other heroes so that they can learn about this latest addition to their ranks. Please, check your DM’s for my sweet nephew’s story. @tomholland2013 @chrishemsworth @robertdowneyjr @markruffalo @prattprattpratt @twhiddleston @chadwickboseman @vindiesel @chrisevans @vancityreynolds @thehughjackman Edit: I never expected my sweet nephew’s story to reach so many. Please, follow my other post (I only have two so far 😅) for the latest info regarding my sweet nephew and his family.

On July 9, 2020, the Walker family was devastated by a tragic event. Bridger Walker, a 6-year-old boy was relentlessly attacked by a dog!

In an Instagram post by Robert Walker, the story of what transpired during the incident was explained in a more detailed manner.

Below is the sequence of events that happened during the dog attack as written in the post.

“While at a friend’s house, Bridger and his sister went into the home’s back yard. Upon entering the yard, the child with them pointed to one dog and said, ‘that is the nice dog,’ and pointed to the other dog in the yard, explaining, ‘that is the mean one.'”

Of course, it was the ‘mean one’ they needed to watch out for.

“Bridger explained how, at that moment, the mean one ran at them. In Bridger’s words, ‘I stepped to the side, in front of my sister so that the dog wouldn’t get her. I kept moving, so it couldn’t get past.'”

“Tragically, instead of running off, the dog leaped and latched onto Bridger’s cheek. Bridger explained that when the dog bit him, he yelled for his sister to run. After the dog released, Bridger ran to his sister and led her to a more secure part of the yard where he thought they would be safe.”

Bridger’s heroic act was heard and admired by many, including some “superheroes.”

Chris Evans is one of them!

He plays the role of ‘Captain America’, one of the major characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. He was incredibly moved by Bridger’s heroism and selflessness so he decided to give the little hero a gift of a lifetime.

Evans sent Bridger a video message telling his admiration for what the little boy did for his sister.

He said,

“Pal, you’re a hero. What you did was so brave, so selfless. Your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you!”

The MCU actor then promised that he will send Bridger something that a real hero should be wielding, an authentic Captain America shield.

“I’m gonna track down your address and I’m gonna send you an authentic Captain America shield! Because pal, you deserve it!”

He ended his video message by saying,

“Keep being the man you are; we need people like you. Hang in there. I know recovery might be tough, but based on what I’ve seen, I don’t think there’s much that can slow you down. Bye, buddy.”

More heroes came to tap Bridger on his back.

Chris Hemsworth who plays the character of Thor ‘The God of Thunder’ in the same MCU franchise also sent Bridger a video message to extend his admiration for the little boy’s courage.

Robert Downey Jr. also sent a message!

Bridger, you’re a rockstar!”

That was the opening message of Iron Man’s message to our young hero.

He also had a sweet talk with Tom Holland, the new actor who plays the role of Spiderman.

Our ‘friendly neighborhood’ invited Bridger to come and watch them shoot ‘Spiderman 3’ for him to have an up-close view of the Spiderman suit. Wow! We’re so excited for you young boy!

More celebrities and known personalities also shared their amazement towards Bridger like Anne Hathaway and Bret Michaels.

An update about our little hero.

Nikki Walker, Bridger’s aunt, shared an update about the brave hero kid.

Have y’all noticed that I have no idea what I’m doing yet? #UmmmIAccidentallyWentViral? When I first posted for Bridger, I expected maybe 500 likes at most and maybe a couple dozen reshares. But here we are. So much love from all walks of life (including a few celebs)! And we just got off a call with a friendly neighborhood idol. (Pic is of Bridger’s reaction right after the call.) Bridger is over the moon! Can’t wait to show him what’s next: a message from some guy who doesn’t like bullies. Gotta wait for the stardust to clear from his eyes first, though. Mission accomplished, everyone! We can’t thank you enough. #BridgerStrong EDIT: I feel like I should also mention that Bridger has also loved all of the other videos and messages I’ve shown him from all of you. We might not be able to get to everyone right away, but your messages are no less appreciated.

“I just finished visiting with Bridger at his home. His wounds are looking so much better! He’s in great spirits, and his awesome personality is intact. He can’t smile too widely yet, but he was grinning as I read some of your comments to him.”

She also made it clear that Bridger’s parents and family are not angry with the dog’s owners.

“I’d also like to mention here that the dog’s owners are really great people who have been nothing but kind to Bridger and his family. We feel no resentment toward them at all, and—if anything—there’s only been an increase of love between our families as a result of this incident.”

Bridger’s love for his sister is incomparable to any other- that he’s willing to put his own life at risk just to protect his sibling.

We often see heroic stories like this, but it’s rare to see a hero story from a 6-year-old boy.

Who knows, he might be recruited as an official MCU superhero in the future. He deserves it, after all, wouldn’t you agree?
