The holidays are full of get-togethers with friends and family. While it’s rude to show up to these events empty handed, sometimes there just isn’t enough time in the week to contribute a dessert. That’s when these Chocolate Nut Clusters come in.
They’re a super easy dessert to make and most everything you need is probably already in your pantry. The best part is that this recipe can easily be personalized. You can use the chocolate of your choice whether it’s milk or dark. Plus, if someone has a peanut allergy you could easily switch them out for a tree nut and vice-versa. So go ahead and fool everyone into thinking that you have all of the time in the world to kill it at the holiday party game.
Ingredients:
- 2 c. chocolate chips
- 1 c. peanuts
- 1.2 tsp. vanilla/coconut/almond extract (optional)
- Almonds (optional)
First, bring about an inch of water to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Put a heat-safe bowl over the simmering water and add 2/3 of the chocolate chips. Stir them until melted. Remove the bowl from the heat and add in the rest of the chocolate chips.
If you prefer, you could aways melt the chocolate chips in a microwave. Just put them in at 20-second increments, stirring in-between.
Whichever way you prefer, once the chocolate is melted, fold in the nuts of your choice until they are fully coated.
Place a spoonful amount of the mixture onto a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Place the sheet into the refrigerator and allow the clusters to set fully before serving them.
Then, that’s it. You’re ready to go to your next holiday party with a tasty treat in hand. Enjoy!
