Making one is very simple, and you only need three ingredients for this. It is also relatively easier to make than most desserts.

Here are the things you need to make this recipe:

  • ¾ cup powdered milk
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • 1 cup dark chocolate
  • Icing piping bag
  • Baking or waxed sheet

First, mix the milk and hot water.

Stir until the mixture is thick. Then, turn on the pan and cook the mixture on low heat. Continue stirring until the water is reduced.

Once the mixture thickens into a dough, remove the pan from the heat.

Knead the dough using a spatula to smoothen it up. Let it sit until the dough is not hot anymore. You must let it cool because you’re going to get your hands on it later.

When the dough is ready, it’s time to shape them into bubbles.

You can use your hands or plastic gloves to roll the dough into a ball. The bubbles don’t have to be of equal sizes. If you find it too sticky, drop some oil on your hand to grease it just enough.

Place the bubbles into a container and set them aside.

It’s time to create your chocolate coating.

Grate or chop around a cup of dark chocolate. You can add some more if you like and if you want to play on the safe side and make sure you have enough chocolate to coat the bubbles.

Place the chocolate in two icing piping bags of different amounts.

One pipe should have more chocolate than the other; you’ll find out why later. In the meantime, get a bowl and fill it with hot water.

Tie the icing piping bags and soak them in the water.

This process will melt the chocolate. You can also try tempering the chocolate by using a double boiler and melting it until it is around 110-115 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, remove it from the double boiler, place it on a towel, and continue to stir until it reaches 95-100 degrees. This is a much tricky technique, but it makes your chocolate crisper.

Check if the chocolate has melted and taken the one with lesser chocolate in it.

Cut the tip of the bag, and drizzle chocolate on top of a baking or waxed sheet. Outline how big your chocolate bubble should be. You can base this on the container where you placed the bubbles.

Continue to drizzle some chocolate inside the outline.

Use a spatula to spread the chocolate evenly. Make sure it’s not too thin so it won’t break easily. Place the bubbles on top of the chocolate’s area.

Next, get the second bag of chocolate and cut the tip.

Drizzle chocolate on the bubbles and make sure everything is covered. Place it in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to harden the chocolate. After that, you can slowly remove it from the sheet and serve.
