There are just some things that perfectly go together: Tom & Jerry, Batman & Robin and when it comes to picknick food, House Wine and Cheez-It crackers are often a perfect match as well. The two brands have now decided to collaborate and create a picknick box that will undoubtedly be adored by many.
This House Wine & Cheez-It box has been specifically made to bring along to a picknick or to enjoy it with friends.
Everyone who’s ever had a Cheez-It knows that they’re an absolutely perfect and timeless snack, and it’ll likely bring up a lot of childhood memories for many as well. And even though children probably didn’t eat these cookies with a glass of wine, that doesn’t mean adults can’t enjoy this great culinary combination.
As the packaging suggests, the box is divided into two equal pieces. On the left side, you’ll find plenty of original red blend House Wine, more than enough to share with a few friends. And if you’re craving for a bite instead of a drink, the other side will probably appeal to you the most. The original Cheez-It crackers that are beloved by almost everyone fill up the other half of the box.
According to a press release, the wine has specifically been chosen to go well with the Cheez-It crackers thanks to its “red currant aromas and juicy red fruit.”
“We are thrilled to partner with House Wine to combine their expertise and America’s favorite 100% real cheese snack into one portable box,” senior marketing director for Kellogg’s U.S. Snacks division, Jeff Delonis, told in a press release.
“Many of our fans were already exploring pairing different wines with Cheez-It. Just like wine and cheese, you can pair the real cheese inside each Cheez-It flavor with the perfect wine complement and find a pair to enjoy all summer long.”
There’s also some bad news: the box will be released in a limited supply.
Unfortunately, these Wine & Cheez-It boxes won’t be available in stores and online permanently, it’s being brought to the market as a limited edition product instead. In other words, if you want one, it’s probably a good idea to get one of these boxes as soon as you can. They’ve been available since the end of July for $25. House Wine definitely knows that there are plenty of people interested in combining wine and Cheez-It crackers together. In order to satisfy everyone, even when the boxes are sold out, the company has released a couple of great wine pairings that would fit with the Cheez-It’s, even taking the special flavors into account. Winemaker Hal Landvoight says that the Extra Toasty crisps go extremely well with sauvignon blanc, and the White Cheddar crackers pair very well with rosé wine.
“We make wines for people to enjoy anytime and anyplace — just like Cheez-It,” the winemaker stated. “I create wines that run the spectrum of flavor — from crisp and bright to savory and spicy. From there, I looked for combinations that complement the real cheese found in each flavor of Cheez-It to make the perfect pairing.”
With one of these limited-edition boxes, picknicks will definitely become tastier!
