Are you a sweet or a savory person? Most likely, it depends on what mood you’re in. You might wake up with a craving for bacon, then have to follow it up with something sweet to balance it out – like Oreos, for instance.

But what if you could have both at the same time?
Combining sweet and savory is a concept that can seem a bit scary if you’ve never done it before, but you end can up with a flavor like nothing else.
Bacon is a particularly popular savory food to combine with sweet stuff. Maple bacon pancakes are a brunch staple in cafes worldwide, and novelty candied bacon is offered as a popular treat all over, including at the Polynesian Village Resort in Walt Disney World.
If you think those ideas are creative enough, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
Introducing: the bacon-wrapped Oreo.

It’s everything you could ever want in a snack, and the perfect solution if you fancy sweet and savory at the same time.
You get the crunch of the Oreo, the salty kick and chew of the bacon, the sweetness of the cream filling… bet your mouth is watering just thinking about it.

You could probably guess how to make these yourself, but here’s the best way to do it:
You will need:
- Double-stuffed Oreos
- Bacon slices (the thinner, the better)
That’s it!
1. Prepare the bacon and Oreos
Cut your bacon slices in half – you won’t need a full slice, as it could end up being too thick. Then wrap each bacon slice around each Oreo, being sure to keep it relatively loose, as bacon tends to shrink when it cooks.
2. Grill, fry or bake the Oreos
Next up, the choice is yours! Depending on what you have available, you could either grill, fry, smoke or bake your bacon-wrapped Oreos.
Frying and grilling are the best options, as they’ll give you crispy bacon without drying it out, but oven-cooking is an option if you’re looking for something super simple and slightly healthier. Just don’t microwave them – microwaved bacon is practically a sin.
3. Wait it out
Depending on your method of cooking the Oreos, you’ll need to wait up to 20 minutes for the bacon to fully cook. Check after 10 minutes if you’re unsure. The bacon should be boiling hot, brown and crispy.
4. Cool and eat

Once you’ve cooked the Oreos, leave them to cool for at least 5 minutes, as they’ll be super hot (and we all know how it feels to burn your mouth because you were just too excited to eat). When they’re warm, but not boiling, they’re ready to enjoy!
There you have it: 2-ingredient, super easy bacon-wrapped Oreos.

Just to warn you, these are incredibly addictive. You say you’ll only have a couple, but guaranteed, you’ll demolish the whole lot in one!
Bacon-wrapped Oreos might not be for everyone, but if you can get your head around the concept, give them a go.
If you fancy getting even more inventive, why not try wrapping your other favorite treats in bacon?

You could pretty much wrap anything sweet in bacon, but keep in mind that if a lot of chocolate is involved, it’ll probably melt and go all over the place.
