He’s known as “the world’s most beloved tenor” and we all know why. Andrea Bocelli has a voice that is unmatched and undeniable. He has been entertaining and touching people’s lives for years.
Now, he has a new release that is equally as beautiful as anything he’s ever done before.
Bocelli has a new record coming out on November 13th. It’s called “Believe”. After listening to one of the tracks, “You’ll Never Walk Alone!”, you’ll certainly believe that this will also be a hit.
“You’ll Never Walk Alone” was written years ago by Gerry and the Pacemakers. Bocelli’s version of these inspiring lyrics is a fresh take on this uplifting message. In his version, he’s slowed it down, making for a wonderful performance.
Bocelli is no stranger to success as he’s sold more than 25 million records in the United States alone. He also earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010.
His story is an inspiring one.
He was diagnosed with glaucoma as a child. This made him partially blind. At the age of 12, he was hit on the head during a soccer game and lost his vision completely.
But, this didn’t stop him from reaching for success. Bocelli went to the University of Pisa to study law. But, through the years, he performed in local piano bars to make extra money and took part in singing competitions.
His luck changed when the great tenor Luciano Pavarotti got his hands on Bocelli’s demo tape via the Italian rock star Zucchero.
Zucchero invited Bocelli to tour with him. Pavarotti also invited Bocelli to perform with him at his annual charity gala, “Pavarotti International”.
Throughout the years, Bocelli has performed for the Pope and has sung duets with the likes of Sarah Brightman, Celine Dion, and Ed Sheeran.
In his latest release, he doesn’t disappoint, delivering lyrics and vocals that are just as strong as those he’s sung before with other famous artists.
He belts out the line “you’ll never walk alone” so loudly and precisely that you feel it in your soul.
While we all know Bocelli for his excellent musical skills, one little fun fact you may not know about him is that he and his brother have their own brand of wine. Bocelli wines are made from grapes grown on the family farm.
From the reviews, it’s pretty good wine too! It just goes to show that Bocelli is successful in many areas of his life. But, don’t get us wrong. He’s not giving up his music career for the wine-making business!
At age 60, he’s still going strong and continues to collaborate with current artists.
In his current album “Believe” he has a new duet with Alison Krauss as well as an unheard track by Ennio Morricone, the late film great.
One thing is for sure, Bocelli continues to impress audiences with his latest album as he lets nothing get in his way. He’s an inspiration to many people, proving that you should never let anything stop you.
Adversity throws itself at everyone in this life in different measures, but how we let it shape us as humans is something only we can control. And, as Andrea is intent on reminding us- though we may go through a lot in this life, we “never walk alone.”
