Chicken breasts are pretty versatile and will take on any flavor and any method of cooking thrown at them.
They’re rich in protein too making them an excellent choice for fitness buffs.
Anything you see can be used to create flavor to what could potentially be a dry piece of meat.
Get those chicken breasts ready and add more flavor to your diet with these six easy marinade recipes!
1. Greek lemon marinade
- Lemon
- Olive oil
- Garlic
- Dijon mustard
- Oregano and thyme
- Salt and pepper
Mediterranean flavors are so light and bright.
Add a quarter cup of olive oil with the juice of one lemon in a mixing bowl.
Put in 2 minced garlic cloves, 2 teaspoons of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon each of dried thyme and Dijon mustard.
Half a teaspoon ground black pepper and a teaspoon of salt goes in to bring out the flavors.
Whisk them in a bowl until they’re blended.
Marinade your chicken anyway you want so long as they absorb the flavors.
Let them sit in the fridge for 30 minutes to 8 hours.
2. Cilantro lime marinade
- Lime
- Cilantro
- Olive oil
- Garlic
- Cumin and chili powder
- Salt and pepper
It’s an explosion of fresh zesty flavors for this one.
In a mixing bowl, add a quarter cup of olive oil, and a quarter cup of roughly chopped cilantro leaves.
Zest and juice 2 limes then add in 2 minced garlic cloves.
A teaspoon of cumin goes in with half a teaspoon of chili powder, then add in a teaspoon of salt and half for black pepper.
Whisk them well before adding a chicken breast to a bag or bowl so you can pour it over the meat.
Chill and cook when ready!
3. Honey mustard
- Honey
- Apple cider vinegar
- Dijon mustard
- Garlic
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Add 3 tablespoons of honey in a mixing bowl.
Then 3 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar.
One minced clove of garlic goes in, a teaspoon of salt and half of black pepper then all you have to do is whisk the ingredients until you get a smooth consistency for that sweet, punchy flavor.
Pour them over your chicken, squeeze them together, and store it in the fridge.
4. Teriyaki marinade
- Tamari soy sauce
- Rice vinegar
- Sesame oil
- Green onion
- Ginger
- Garlic
This is a more American version but it is still irresistible.
So add a quarter cup of soy sauce in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, a tablespoon of rice vinegar then 1 thinly sliced green onion with 2 teaspoons of ginger.
Finish it off with 2 minced garlic cloves.
Mix them well before pouring over your chicken and letting it chill in the fridge.
5. Fajita marinade
- Cumin
- Paprika
- Chili powder
- Lime
- Olive oil
- Garlic
- Salt and pepper
Mexican cuisine is a popular choice anywhere so you’ll love this one.
Add a quarter cup of olive oil to a bowl, then a juice of 1 lime, 1 minced garlic clove, 1 teaspoon chili powder, a teaspoon of cumin, half of paprika, then a teaspoon of salt and half for black pepper.
Mix and blend the spices together then let your chicken breast absorb all the flavors.
6. Italian marinade
- Olive oil
- White wine vinegar
- Red pepper flakes
- Italian seasoning
- Salt
Cause everybody loves Italian.
A quarter cup of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of white wine vinegar go into a mixing bowl.
Add 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning, 2 minced garlic cloves, half a teaspoon of red pepper flakes for that kick, and of course salt.
Mix and whisk to combine the ingredients, and yes, pour over the chicken and store until ready to cook.
These six recipes are sure to bring smiles so go ahead and give them a try.
Baking or grilling seem to be the better options for these marinaded chicken breasts too.
Bake them at 425 degrees Fahrenheit or 220 degrees Celsius for 20-25 minutes.
Let the chicken cool once done, then slice it up and enjoy.
