Everybody loves food. In fact, we could never live this long without it. Among the variety of food that we have every day, there are lots of chances that we encounter food that’s a bit weirder than normal.
Understandably, humans and machines may yield an inconsistency in their products, but even nature does that too. You will see fruits and vegetables which will immediately strike you as odd.
1. Could you still eat that?
Someone left an artichoke on the fridge for so long that when he came back to it, the bud already bloomed. It’s still edible, but it is too much of a hassle to prepare it. Might as well get another one to eat.
2. Pepper baby
They found a growing bell pepper inside a big bell pepper after it was cut in half. It feels like they’re performing a cesarean birth surgery. are the chances of this even happening?
3. Clustered grapes
Instead of having a bundle of grapes, how about having grapes merged into one? Although, it looks a lot like a green tomato than a grape. Still, you could appreciate how this became possible.
4. Crustless bread
This loaf of bread is just perfect for people who don’t love the crust. If you are one of the people who still skin their sliced bread’s crust, then you’re more than lucky. Maybe the baker itself doesn’t also love the crust.
5. Self-healing tomato
Either this tomato accidentally slit itself and managed to heal itself or someone actually stitched its skin back. Regardless, both possibilities are equally amazing. I mean, it’s not every day you see something like this.
6. This vending machine
We usually grab a quick drink or snack from the vending machines on the street. However, if you’re parched or just wanted to have a quick bite, then this place is not for you. Instead of drinks and snacks, they have meat, eggs, and sausages.
7. Long cereal
I just don’t know what to feel about this. It’s impressive that there’s an unusually long Cheerio cereal mixed in this box, but aside from that, it’s still cereal. It might even be a weird addition to your breakfast.
8. Proving authenticity
This salt manufacturer wanted to prove that their salt has the freshest taste, that they included tiny seashells in them. We get it, it’s REAL sea salt! They didn’t have to make it that specific.
9. Long marshmallow
We previously talked about long cereal, and this time it’s a long marshmallow. I wonder how it’ll be roasted during a campfire party. Surely, it will take a LONG time.
10. Printed on the bread
Somehow, the manufacturers printed the best before date on one of the sausage bread in a pack of four. Is the best before date intended for the whole pack, or only for that single bread? Is it even safe to eat?
11. Free stuff
This pizza from Papa John’s unusually came with its tray. The cook may have been rushing to end his shift that it turned out like that. I don’t know if the person who received this little freebie was lucky or not.
12. Gigantic lemon
I wonder what kind of fertilizer they used to yield this big of a lemon. It’s even twice as big as one hand. This could probably serve a whole pitcher of lemonade if ever they decide to serve it.
13. Squiggly leek
If you think a simple leek won’t surprise you, then that’s where you’re wrong. This man happened to discover a leek with unusually squiggly insides after cutting it in half. The curls would add quite a nice variety to the dish though.
14. Extra pincer
We have seen some people having an extra finger or toe, but this might be the first time that you’ll see a lobster with an extra claw. It’s tinier than the original, and there is no telling if it functions the way a pincer does. Does it even have meat inside?
15. Gigantic potato chip
Lays has been joked around having more air than chips in its bag. However, this guy somehow got lucky after pulling a giant potato chip in his Lays bag. It’s quite the discovery that I feel that I would keep as a trophy.
16. It has a mouth!
This odd chili pepper would either freak you out or make you laugh. I mean, it does seem to look like it grew a mouth, and with some teeth as well. To make it less terrifying, imagine it with a pair of googly eyes.
17. Creepy apple
It’s just plainly creepy seeing a tinier apple growing out of the bigger one. This looks more like the apple the witch gave to Snow White. You already know how it ended up after eating it.
18. Know when it’s ripe
This may not be mainly about the food, but this still deserves some mention. The sticker here tells you which the best color of a fruit is to get the best taste. Sure, sometimes all you do is to wait till the peel turns darker but it’s better to know this kind of detail to fully enjoy it.
19. Weird drink
You might not believe me if I say that these two are the same grapefruit drink. One is kept outside while the other just came from the fridge. The color difference might be because of the pH level changes of the violet pigment Anthocyanins, which temperature is also a factor.
20. A whole potato
This guy was expecting to find potato chips but ended up finding a whole potato inside the bag instead. If you ask him about the taste, it’s really not that great. Although, what you should ask is why did they bag a whole potato in there.
21. Clenched fist
This green pepper grew unusually. It took the form of a clenched fist. You’d surely expect a lot of punch from this pepper.

The grapes that we are used to eating are usually round and bite-sized. However, you might be surprised seeing that there are long grapes out there. They are called teardrop grapes.
23. French horn chocolate chips
Due to their long tails, these tiny chocolate chips look like miniature French horns. They look so cute that even you’d be tempted to try blowing air into them. Surely they taste a bit better than your normal chocolate chips.
24. Factory issue
This guy ordered 4 cups of yogurt but when they arrived, all of them but one has their lids. The worst part is the expiration date is printed on the yogurt itself. Seems like the factory ran out of materials to make the lid.
25. Plastic bag?
At first glance this may look like a hanging plastic bag with trash inside, but that’s actually not the case. Some rotten tomatoes might automatically fall on the ground from their tree. This one, however, sags and is holding its own juice inside.
26. Missing Cheetos
Did someone eats all the Cheetos in the factory? Because this guy only got a massive lump of powdered cheddar cheese in his Cheeto bag. On the bright side, he could just use that to mix with some other snacks.
27. Evil tomato
This is the evil bane of all tomatoes and has risen to exterminate all of them. Seriously though, this is just but a stout eggplant. On the other hand, it does look like a weird tomato.
28. How great is this?
Majority of the ice cream places serve their scoops into the usual spheres, but this one does not. They serve theirs as blocks of creamy goodness. You might not have to worry about some random spills on this one and it’s way easier to lick.
29. Cotton candy grapes
You may be confused on why this bag of grapes says cotton candy. Well, these grapes are meant to be a healthy alternative to cotton candies since they taste almost the same. With a bag full of these, it’s like going into the town’s fair a bunch of times.
30. Star-shaped cucumbers
Yes, this is real, but this cucumber did not grow like this naturally. Instead, certain mold tools force a cucumber to grow into different shapes. Even kids may like them.
31. Twin bananas
Two bananas in the same peel? If you love bananas, getting this is quite a lucky strike. It doesn’t taste any different than the others, but I’d go bananas for this.
32. Is it a carrot?
They didn’t use any kind of molding tools to make this lemon have this shape. It just grew naturally, hanging on the tree’s branches. How will you even extract its juices?
33. Grape hostages
These peculiar grapes were constricted together by their own vines. They grew up as is, and every time you look at them it seems they’re desperately shouting for help. I wonder how they taste though.
34. Gigantic egg
You may think that this big egg came from a big bird, but this actually just came from a farm chicken. The size is too large that anyone would confuse it for a potato. Imagine how big the sunny-side-up this would create.
35. Banana ice cream
This unique ice cream works as a banana. You can peel the jelly and within is a yummy vanilla ice cream. It’s quite an interactive and yummy treat meant for everyone.
36. Penguin meat?
Isn’t it odd that someone’s cooking some penguin meat for breakfast? But rest assured, they’re not actually penguins, they’re just penguin-shaped bacon. It’s impressive how they got the shape right.
37. Unfinished meal
This guy ordered some mussels for dinner. One of the mussels has a half-eaten crab inside. A lot of people might have walked away after seeing this.
38. The egg-ception
This guy’s usual morning suddenly became interesting after cracking an egg for his breakfast. It was the moment when another smaller egg fell with the yolk, straight to the pan. How could this even happen?
39. Strawberry Mario
If you were into Retro games before, then you’d probably know in a glance which character this odd strawberry resembles. I mean, the mustache already gave it away. Plus, the character coincides with the red color.
40. Isn’t this just a red rubber ducky?
While harvesting tomatoes, one of them to be quite peculiar than the rest. The tomato was quite larger and is shaped like a rubber ducky. Or did someone just stuffed a rubber duck inside a tomato?
41. Odd M&M pill
Usually, M&Ms are round-shaped. However, this guy found an M&M that’s cylindrical in shape. Is this just some easter bunny surprise for candy lovers? Or just a beautiful factory inconsistency?
42. This time its a banana
You have seen the carrot-lemon in the previous slides. Guess what? There’s also a banana! It almost looks like one that someone might just be fooled by this.
43. This odd strawberry
This strawberry’s seeds are sprouting while still on the fruit. Some have grown already quite big, and it is quite interesting to think of what could have happened to it afterward. Sadly, we could really never know.
44. Three cobs of corn
If there’s such thing as a twin banana, there’s also the corn cob trio. These three corn cobs grew together and never wanted to separate. As a result, they’re still as big as single corn collectively.
45. Carrot’s sexy legs
You’d see the perfect pair of legs on supermodels. However, you might not expect to see one on a tiny carrot. The carrot even looks like it would strut on the red carpet.
46. Satisfying
One of life’s most satisfying feelings is slicing a boneless avocado. You don’t have to worry about the big seed in the center plus you can just enjoy its yummy contents. Although this top-tier avocado is just too rare to find.
47. Who’s the father
Someone found a tomato that bore something inside but instead of a smaller tomato, it was something else entirely. As you can see, it’s a strawberry and it’s a complete mystery on how it got there in the first place.
48. Who wood eat these?
You’re probably thinking about how these blocks of wood were being served in a bakery. Worry not, it turns out they are edible bread. Despite that fact, would people find them appetizing?
49. Rough egg
This egg seems to have an odd texture. Because of this, it became difficult for the mother to bear this egg alone. Will the insides be different as well? We will never know.
50. Pink-fleshed apples
Though uncommon to a lot of areas, this apple will surely satisfy you if ever you get the chance to find one. It is sweeter than a normal apple, and it’s like eating an apple tart with every bite.
51. Weird tomato shape
You would never guess that these things are tomatoes. They have a weird gourd-shaped figure that made it seem like a completely different fruit.
52. This watermelon chunk
Somehow this guy managed to pull out a weird chunk of watermelon while eating one. The chunk is shaped like a tongue after all. It weirdly looks like he’s just holding a piece of gross tongue and is enough to make anyone lose their appetites.
53. Coated the wrong side
This KitKat bar was coated the wrong way. Instead of the logo placed on top of the wafer, it was put on the side. As for the taste, there’s really no difference compared to a normal bar of KitKat.
54. Are you sure this is not fish?
The poster says that this is not a salmon or any kind of fish. It is just the insides of the sweet potato he sliced. No matter how you look at it, it still looks like fish meat.
55. Baby pepper
We have seen more than one of these peppers in this slideshow. The reason they have “babies” inside is caused by the phenomenon called Internal Proliferation. It forms a sterile fruit inside without undergoing fertilization.
It’s amazing how these things happen and how people could see these with their own eyes. Even though they think it’s just odd, gross, or out of the ordinary, considering that they’re one of the few people who have seen these inconsistencies, I think they’re very lucky.
