The story goes that pretzels were first created by a monk in Italy a long time ago. He apparently folded into a shape resembling a child crossing its arms in prayer, and that’s how these delicious bites of heaven (see what we did there) were first created.
If you’re like us and you tend to avoid dough-based products that need proving (we’re all about that instant gratification) then you’ll absolutely love this next recipe.
Featuring only two ingredients, these pretzels are not only incredibly easy to make, but there’s no waiting involved for the dough to rise, and you will have the bites in front of you and ready to eat in a grand total of 22 minutes.
The cheese sauce itself has more ingredients than the pretzels and is a little more technical- so it’s up to you want to skip this step and include your own dip.
Garlic mayo is also a perfect companion for this tasty appetizer!
If you do decide to make the cheese sauce, then you can get started on this once your pretzels are in the oven. This recipe is so simple and easy, that it involves absolutely no rushing around your kitchen like a headless chicken. Now that’s what we like to hear!
It goes without saying that it’s best to eat these pretzel bites when they’re fresh out of the oven. The warm dough will practically melt in your mouth, and the cheese will be deliciously gooey and at the perfect temperature.
