Everyone loves to indulge in some sinfully sweet dessert from time to time (or every single night). But, not everyone loves to make them.

A lot can go into making the perfect dessert, and even though it’s a labor of love, oftentimes we still feel guilty for eating it. Why? Because we all know that no one is going to stop at just one serving.

So, wouldn’t it be great if we could find a way to make our favorite dessert in a much simpler way, while also scaling back on just how much of it we produce?

Well, now you can. Meet the mug cake!

And who could blame you?!

Another awesome feature of this decadent little dessert is that all the ingredients can go straight into the mug, making cleanup a snap.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Obviously, a mug

As well as:

  • 2 Tblsp. of cocoa powder
  • 3 Tblsp. of all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tblsp. of sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • salt
  • 3 Tblsp. of milk
  • 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract
  • 2 Tblsp. of vegetable oil
  • Small chocolate chunks, a little over 1/2 an oz.

After you’ve gathered everything, add your first five ingredients to the mug.

Using a fork, thoroughly mix the flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Make sure to break up any clumps of flour and cocoa so they are well blended.

When you’re done, your mug cake mix should look almost like sand.

Next, add your milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.

Gently pour the milk into the mug, followed by the oil and extract. Grab your fork and gently mix the ingredients until they are thoroughly combined. Again making sure that there are no dry clumps left behind.

At this point, you’re ready to add in your chocolate chunks.

You can use either milk or dark chocolate- the choice is yours!
